Services, Getting There Getting there: From Ely, NV, take US 6 southwest about 30 miles to County Road 10, turn right. Following it roughly 10 miles toward the Ellison Creek Guard Station will put you on the south flank of Bald Mountain. Alternate route: From Ely, NV, take US 50 west about 45 miles to FS Road 400. Turn south and follow this dirt road about 20 miles to access the western flank of Bald Mountain and the Ellison Creek Guard Station. Supplies: Ely is about 45 road miles to the east.
